Richard Oliver - Psychotherapist
I am a registered psychotherapist with UKCP, a leading governing body for psychotherapy (reg no: 6158334) and I qualified in 2006 after 8 years of part-time training at the Oxford School of Psychodrama and Integrative Psychotherapy. The training was rigorous and involved 3 years at a London hospital psychotherapy department (Mile End) where I ran a weekly group for out-patients
What I DoI work with adults on any mental issue. People frequently attend my sessions for help with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, anger, depression, grief and panic. As my client, together we will start by looking at specific life events that could have gone better for you. Quite quickly, this unlocks the doorway to many avenues that lead to the core problem, enabling your internal world to be concretised and offering you the tools to help in future.
Many issues have a profound effect on your relationships with others - both in the family and in the workplace. I am trained to see any relationship from standing in another person’s shoes, which allows the client to have his/her own insights and to change at their own pace. We will uncover the hidden agendas and family links that are central in driving your behaviour, leading to a connection with others that feels more positive and fulfilling.
